Vote Jason Washer for School Board

A Stronger Future for Keene Schools.

Campaign Hero

My Bio

I am a lifelong Keene resident, a Navy veteran, and a small business owner with three children currently attending Keene public schools. My deep roots in this community began with my parents, who owned Jean’s Pastry in the 1970s and 80s, and I am a proud product of the Keene school system myself.

Professional Experience

My career has been defined by service and leadership. I served as a Navy Corpsman, providing mental health care to service members in a Naval Hospital, and later worked with at-risk adolescents in the mental health field. Following my military service, I spent years in management at Home Depot where I led large teams and managed large sales goals and financials. For the past 12 years, I have successfully owned and operated my own small business here in Keene.

Community Advocacy

I became active with the School Board a year and a half ago after learning that the district was withholding meals from some students with lunch debt. I attended meetings and advocated for a policy change to ensure no child went hungry. As a result of that effort, the Board updated its policy, and today, every student in our schools is guaranteed lunch every day.

My Commitment

I am running for School Board to ensure our district always puts students first. I am a firm supporter of public education and believe that a transparent board is essential to building community trust and participation. My philosophy is simple: any decision that cannot be made in the open is likely not a decision that serves the best interests of our kids.

I ask for your support on March 10th to bring a parent’s perspective and proven management experience to the Keene School Board.

My Key Issues

Invest in local public education

Putting kids first. Every decision that the district makes should be looked at through this framework first.

Increased transparency and public participation

Increased transparency on the board and in the district to build trust and increase community engagement

Smart budgeting that respects teachers and taxpayers.

Smart budgeting that respects teachers and taxpayers. We need to retain our great teachers and make sure that Keene is a great place to teach while looking at non-student facing areas more closely.
